Size: 15-18 mm
This large moth clearwing moth is known from the Chiricahua Mountains, Madera Canyon and the high elevations of New Mexico, Colorado and northern Mexico. This specimen was captured using a ZZA pheromone lure at the 4800 foot level along Harshaw Creek. This color form and another with red-orange wings with a black body are associated with oaks forest areas. Captured by William Taft and Ned Schaper. Photo by Ronald Priest (MSU).
