The white moth IDed last year: was Protogygia album but the characteristic small black spot in the forewing on this one is hardly visible... Several similar moths and hardly a spot on any of them. blacklighting. Darby Well, Ajo, Arizona, USA.

Moved from Owlet Moths. The dark spot at the area of the reniform is not necessarily typical of this species. Please see revised description based upon MONA Fascicle 27-1 here at BugGuide. Also see image 30 on Plate I of the fascicle. The fascicle is available as a free PDF download (follow the link at the bottom of the 'Info' section for this species). One of the things that can really help with a moth like this is a fairly accurate measurement of the FW or total length of the moth. Note how much smaller album is compared to similar species.
