Cool, El Dorado County, California, USA

Size: about 9 mm
This is unlikely the same specimen. This is one of two underside views for Kojun Kanda. I think I've partially solved the mystery of why these beetles have been disappearing. They've been eaten by first turning them over and nibbling off their legs. At least that's what it appears from this one's condition. I have three potential villains in mind: this ro*ve beetle, this car*abid, and this monstrous larva.
