I brought home some Phosphila specimens to dissect out of curiosity. Much to my surprise I found that I had 4 that I believe are Phosphila fernae. If so, I think you can tell from the photographs that the two species cannot be separated in West Texas except by DNA or dissection. This one was the most surprising to me. I am only posting my best dissection, but this one looked the same. I am sending 3 specimens to BOLD for DNA confirmation
