Syrphid fly - Eupeodes volucris - female

Syrphid fly - Eupeodes volucris - Female
rural, Denton County, Texas, USA
April 1, 2008
Here's another one. Does anyone have a clear ID? Flower Fly, Metasyrphus americanus?

Moved
Moved from Eupeodes.

I agree
With Texhoma, at least for the genus. It should be a Eupeodes, but whether it is a volucris female or one of the other species I canĀ“t tell.
So for me it would be Eupeodes sp. female!
greetings

I believe it is a
Eupeodes volucris, female

Perhaps,
But there is that very similar Scaeva pyrastri which is a lot bigger; unfortunately we do not have a size estimate here. Hopefully we can get an expert to give us a positive ID.
