Meadow near deciduous forests. Small holes on surface I presume are the result of a parasitic wasp laying eggs.

Thanks! I see you ID'd exactly the same thing in the same part of Maryland previously--though that other photo was taken on July 22, 2018 rather than Sept. 22.
