Identification
In light of further thinking, comparison with other photos and with specimens, and discussion with Ted MacRae, I have decided that this image is best placed under A. neglecta, and will move it accordingly. Without seeing actual specimens, preferrably series of them, identifications in this group can easily be suspect.

Acmaeodera neglecta...
...similar to A. tubulus, but the elytra are less shiny and more strongly punctate. The joining of the basal elytral yellow spots into "C"-shaped markings occurs commonly in this species but rarely in A. tubulus.
