white springtail - Cyphoderus similis

white springtail - Cyphoderus similis
Groton, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA
April 5, 2008
I found a group of these springtails under a piece of bark that was lying on the ground with a bunch of ants.
I think this is the right identification, but didn't get a chance to photograph the furca to be positive.

Cyphoderus similis, indeed,
given you have found it with ants.
The alternative, Pseudosinella rolfsi, must be kept in mind as long as the furca was not seen, though.
