Arizona Moth - Decodes fragariana

Arizona Moth - Decodes fragariana
Forest Road 861 off Rt. 366 on Mt Graham at under 5000 feet., Graham County, Arizona, USA
August 23, 2016
I'm placing this specimen here under D. fragariana even though by image alone it may be hard or even not really possible to separate it from D. basiplagana. Both species may be expected in this area of SE Arizona as far as I know. I have noticed that there are orangish scales on the edge toward head of the dark mid wing patch area which appear on other images in BG and MPG and BOLD for fragariana, but seem less evident, if at all there, on the same area for basiplagana. That's all I have to tip the scale for me toward fragariana; it may or may not be enough. Therefore I'm open to hear any challenge to this placement. The moth was found on a sheet with a UV black light.
