Soldier Fly …Sarginae (?)

Observed on White Snakeroot (Ageratina altissima) along the bank of the Chattahoochee River. (Thanks)

Maybe best to just leave at Subfamily Sarginae (or Frass) whichever you think best :)

good idea... it is surely a S
good idea... it is surely a Sarginae, so lets move it there... The eyes have a sparkling look which is often seen in M flaviventris, but the head is more broad, like in Cephalochrysa... not easy ;-)
