I returned from my outdoor garden to my house and found this Bumble Bee inside between the storm window and the front window nestled on the windowsill snug and warm. Confirm identity, please. teddie

Actually, it IS a bumble bee:-)
I'm sorry, we've done such a good job here of reminding people about large carpenter bees getting confused with bumble bees that now, when someone posts an actual bumble bee like this one, their first thought is that it is a Xylocopa! Funny. Anyway, Dr. Ascher may be able to give you a species for her.
