Moved from Alaus zunianus based on comments from Ed Riley (Texas A&M) that A. zunianus has not been documented from Texas, and that A. lusciosus has very similar coloration.

Crop

This is a very cool species and we don't have many images of it in the guide, could you crop this and re-submit it, it would allow everybody to see your excellent photo in more detail!

Actually, instead of posting it to a new node

in ID Request, what would be better is if you click on EDIT on this page and then replace this image with the new one (Click on Browse once you're in edit mode and paste the new image in exactly the same way you pasted in the original.) That will replace the old image that we no longer need with the new image and yet retain all the comments and links already formed to this node.

Thanks for your help. It is the first time I have posted. I am excited to have found the page as I am always wondering about the MULTITUDE of bugs in my garden. Some good so very bad (harlequin bug).
