June 26, 2019: looking for insects and their sign, found darkenings on the flowers of Daisy fleabane, Erigeron strigosus. Looking under the darkened areas found a fly puparium. Collected several flowers with sign, and in most cases there was 1 puparium per flower. However, in one flower there were 6 puparia.
June 28, 2019: first adult fly, with a few more emerging over the next 4 days
The next few days I paid more attention to Fleabane flowers where ever I saw them, collected a few resulting in more flies one of which had a white puparium.
