Moved from Ground Beetles.

I think so.
It looks similar to this one from New Mexico. What size was yours?

Not 29 mm
like yours. I would estimate they were 20-25mm.

We need a key to the southwestern Calosoma
:-)

Key and illustrations for all Calosoma spp. of southwest
(and beyond) appear in Gidaspow (1959) - North American Caterpillar Hunters of the Genera Calosoma and Callisthenes - Bulletin American Museum Natural History. Additional natural history for each species can be found in these two Pensoft publications: Erwin (2007) - Treatise on the Western Hemisphere Caraboidea (Volume 1) or Larochelle & Lariviere (2003)- Natural History of the Ground Beetles of America North of Mexico. I'm not aware of a published key restricted to carabids (including Calosoma) of just the southwest.
