Size: FW length 3.0 mm
Caught in Malaise trap 24-31 August 2019. This subgenital plate seems a little different than my prior briggsi, with the arms less inwardly curved?

Your image of the ventral abdomen ...
does not show the apical lobes of the subgenital plate well enough to decide whether they are "decidedly curved inward" or not. You might take another look at this specimen. The wing patter does look like briggsi, though.

Wing spots -
faint and clypeus without much contrast point to E. briggsi? I've been looking at Mockford 1959 and it points pretty strongly to some somatic characters that separate briggsi from californicus that I hope are still accurate?
