Geometrid? - Pangrapta decoralis

Geometrid? - Pangrapta decoralis
Cary, Wake County, North Carolina, USA
May 18, 2005
This one was flying along the ground during the daytime. I am guessing it's a geometrid moth? I looked through the MPG plates, but I probably missed it if it's there, there are so many! Any help would be appreciated.

Moved
Moved from Metarranthis.

Pangrapta decoralis
This moth is not Metarranthis, in fact it is not even a Geometrid. It is Pangrapta decoralis. Note the two gray marks along the costa near the FW apex.

A Metarranthus, but Which One?
I favor 6825 - Pale Metarranthis Moth - Metarranthis indeclinata for this one, but with a good chance that I am incorrect. This is a confusing genus, with several possible new species yet to be described. I at first thought this might be a Common Metarranthus, but it simply looks too pale, so.......

Metarranthis
Thanks for your help, feel free to move it into/create the appropriate guide page.
