July 15, 2019: finding these neatly woven leaves of Columbine, Aquilegia canadensis, on a hill prairie remnant was fun. Certainly it must be an insect of interest if for no other reason than the design of the 'balloon weaving' which is similar to this:


August 3, 2019: a beautiful moth if not exactly what I had in mind. Hope springs eternal and certainly I must have the wrong ID. Alas, Moni Hayne confirmed the ID.
NOTE: Moni and I were both wrong on the ECB ID but I am pleased about that. The world (at least in Iowa) knows plenty about the ECB.

I prefer your ID not only because it works (larva and puff weaving) but also because I live in corn country (which means I SHOULD know ECB!).
