Gall Midge

Gall Midge
Lacey (near Olympia), Thurston County, Washington, USA
April 12, 2008
Size: VERY tiny
This cute little guy is on the edge of my camera's capabilities...actually, a little past the edge. :) The wings overlap and have an odd shape to them. Not even sure if this guy is diptera or not. It's also got rather long antennae that curve back over his head like some of the gall midges, but this guy's a lot stockier in both body and wing.

Cecidomyiidae
It is!
greetings,

Here is one for you to look at
It is sort of "stocky" too???

thx John
Wings are the exact same shape as well. Hmmm...maybe I'm getting better: now instead of not knowing what my bug is, I come up with a pretty good example of what I think it probably isn't! :)
