Dissosteira carolina? - Trimerotropis saxatilis - male

Dissosteira carolina? - Trimerotropis saxatilis - Male
near Denver, Jefferson County, Colorado, USA
August 22, 2019

Did you photograph wings?
There is a chance these are T. fratercula, but in structure and pattern they look like T. saxatilis to me. The wings look different on the two, and they sound different when they fly. Both species hang out on rock exposures near the lower limit of the mountains (and T. saxatilis also out across the plains to the east).

The two species also sound very different when they fly.

Moved from Trimerotropis.
