Here is a picture of a fly's head next to a bee's head. Note the differences between the two. The eyes on the bee are much smaller then the fly's and the antenna are much larger on the bee. Although there are flies which imitate bees, one can easily distinguish the two. Flies have only two wings and bees have four. Their heads are very different as you can see in the photograph above. I have outlined the right compound eyes of each in blue so they can easily be seen. The fly's head is on the left and the bee's is on the right.
