Unknown moth - Phyllodesma americana - male

Unknown moth - Phyllodesma americana - Male
Doniphan, Ripley County, Missouri, USA
April 16, 2008
Size: 2.5 cm long
I found this moth clinging to our sliding glass door screen. Upon further examination, I found that he was dead. I figure it's because the past two nights have been below freezing. He had feathery antennae, which is why I'm figuring male.

Moved
Moved from Moths.

He woke up!!
I guess he was very cold, because once the sun came in on the west side, he woke up and gave me some nice shots.

American lappet moth.
Apologies, I haven't committed the species name to memory.

Thanks!!
Looked it up, and images match mine. Thank you!!

You're welcome.
I lived in Forsyth (Taney County) for a year, and remember these were rather common early in the spring.
