Genus Coenocara. Great picture! You didn't handhold this, did you?

Yes....well sort of. It was hand-held but with a monopod attached. But the beetle was situated in such a way that the monopod was too tall, even fully compressed. So I put the "foot" of the monopod on the ground and tilted it and the camera toward the beetle. I had the lens cranked all the the way down as small as it would go and then just sort of moved the camera a little to get it to "lock on".
