Looking at the metasternum, the plate directly in front of the hind coxa, is that detritus on it. If you have the specimen you can look to see if it has short hairs or long hairs. Let us know if you can determine this feature. I think this is Xylota.

Xylota
It is still difficult. If you had REMOVED the detritus on the plate directly in front of the hind coxae it might have helped. But having the specimen you should be able to determine if there are long hairs on this plate. Viewing the specimen under a microscope would help.
However, the new image, 1782417 allows a good view of the hind femora and they can be seen to narrow TO the tip and not to BEFORE the tip as in Chalcosyrphus.
Also this specimen has the hind tibia at least white for basal third and has the hind femora with long snow white hairs on dorsal basal half.
This is Xylota. Lets hope a further investigation of the metasternum also confirms this...
Thanks for the extra pictures...

I would like a view of the ventral surface of the hind femora and the metasternum, the underside of the thorax.
In the lateral view the metasternum appears to be without long hairs and the femur seems to narrow to tip,and I am leaning to Xylota but I would like more pictures.

I'll take a side view! Thanks
Actually I have a side view, I'll add

How big are the hind femora?
How big are the hind femora? Any chance of a side view?
