Robber Fly - Diogmites neoternatus
Clarksville TN, Montgomery County, Tennessee, USA
May 7, 2007
Size: about an inch
I was able to take this with only one snap. I removed the background because it was taken from the back of my jeep.

Moved
Moved from Hanging-thieves.

I was wondering how you "removed the background", and if it is a very difficult process?

It took time.
Very Tedious work. I erased all I Could with a mask and corrected mistakes with a layer.
I had taken just one snap and it was gone. It landed in the back of my jeep on a clear bucket.
Really bad looking comp.
When I Cleaned up the Background, I actually had to replace a leg that was hidden behind the bucket.

I just noticed your Comment. sorry it took me this long to respond. If I was a Heart Patent, I would be Flat lined. LOL

Glowing
Floating, alien Diogmites shot. Nice effect. Appears to be Diogmites neoternatus.

Hi, Kathleen.
What an amazing shot of a species of Diogmites (aka "hanging thief"). Wish I could give you a species, but maybe Herschel Raney or one of the other asilid experts can do that. Thanks for sharing your work here!

Thank you
Thank you all for the nice comments. This is my husbands favorite Picture
