brown striped bee - Apis mellifera

brown striped bee - Apis mellifera
Ludwig Prairie Preserve, Winneshiek County, Iowa, USA
August 3, 2019
Size: ~12 mm
This might just be a western honey bee, but it doesn't look quite like a normal honey bee to me. However, I didn't see any other bee examples in my area that seemed to fit the pattern of overall orange color and rather distinct light striping on the abdomen. I couldn't get many clear photos of this foraging bee either, so any ID may be impossible.
