Thanks John, certainly possible and look very much like it, but all specimen in BG are from west Canada and were collected in sept-oct. Mine is from East and was collected July 2. If more detailed photos are needed for id, I still have this specimen..

I'm not familiar with Narctic Opomyzid flies, but it is a Geomyza sp.
