Callibaetis
This male imago is a perfect match for Daggy's excellent 1945 description of C. brevicostatus (the type was a male imago). Mayfly Central lists brevicostatus as a junior synonym of skokianus Needham, but the current taxonomy seems a little muddy. In his 1982 U. Minn. doctoral thesis, Gary Check argued that brevicostatus Daggy, skokianus Needham, and semicostatus Banks should all be considered as junior synonyms of pallidus Banks. Given the confusing history of the original descriptions and the similarities between them, he could be right. However, the conservative placement would be C. skokianus. And, after all, this is an Illinois specimen. :)

Callibaetis
Minray-

Yes, sure is. This one is a Callibaetis male imago.
