Based on the shaggy appearance this is Trichochrous pallescens Blaisdell, 1924. It is a common species in the Spring and early Summer on the Mojave and Sonoran Deserts. Adults aggregate in large numbers on flowers of Palo Verde, Chilopsis, and also milkweed.
