Speyeria cybele? - Speyeria

Speyeria cybele? - Speyeria
Mt. Diablo, Contra Costa County, California, USA
May 20, 2014
I believe that I submitted this image several years ago (along with others) that are not included in my "Your Images." I would like to submit this image to iNaturalist as Speyeria cybele if that species is correct. Could you have a look and and give me your thoughts? Thanks

Moved to genus for expert attention
Moved from ID Request.

Looks like Callippe Fritillary
note black checkmark in basal area of trailing edge of forewing, this mark does not occur with S. Cybele. I do not consider myself an expert on western frits and it may take a long time to get an ID on BugGuide thus I recommend submitting to iNat which currently has several active identifiers of butterflies.

Looks like Callippe Fritillary
Thanks Cliff.
