Millipede black with few segments - Phengodes

Millipede black with few segments - Phengodes
Rabbit Mountain Open Space, Boulder County, Colorado, USA
March 6, 2020
Size: about an inch
This millipede was out in early March on a slab of concrete in Rabbit Mountain Open Space, elevation ~5500'. It seems to have very few segments. We also have seen a black millipede in the foothills in early March in another year, but it is longer at 46 mm seems to have a great many segments: BG 1187525. Any help is much appreciated.

A real surprise
I have seen male Phengodidae, but never a larva or female. On the concrete the little inch long black insect crawled like and looked like a millipede. Thank you so much for your identification! It is so helpful.
