Bee or mimic? - Xylocopa virginica - male

Bee or mimic? - Xylocopa virginica - Male
Gainesville, Alachua County, Florida, USA
March 10, 2020
I caught this fella last week and got very excited that I might have a bee mimic, but I’m not sure. It could just be a good ol’ fashioned bumble bee. Help me out please!

Male
This looks like a male Carpenter Bee, probably eastern. Does he have a white face?

Cool!
Yes he does! I was hoping it was a mimic but I don’t have a carpenter bee in my collection yet either! Thanks for your help! ☺️
