Identification
Black species, usually with black halteres, with many bristles on hind tibia. Could be mistaken for Anthomyiidae based on the strongly bristled hind leg and small lower calypter.
Range
Arctic and alpine regions of Holarctic, especially in Asia, with one lowland species in North America.
