Mount Diablo, Contra costa County, California, USA
April 1, 2008
Size: 3/8"
This green shiny fellow caught my eye ! Even though they are eating the flowers , these guys are beautiful . This fellow was found on a Wallflower on Mt. Diablo . I did not see very many of this type . I would love to know what kind of beetle this is to further my growing buggie knowledge . Thanks for any input , sincerely Bugsys posy

genus Scelolyperus, compare to Scelolyperus smaragdina here

ID confirmed by S.M. Clark: Scelolyperus sp.

Moved from Beetles.

Chrysomelidae: Galerucinae
and not one of the flea beetles. Seems to be new to the guide.
