I have a hard time distinguishing X. micans and X. virginica males when the face is not visible. Any pointers would be appreciated. The sheen color is supposedly green/blue for X. micans and purple for X. virginica, but it is not always visible. The yellow portion of the scape of the antenna also is not always visible. I'm seeing mixed comments about the color of the hairs on the legs. What if there is yellow only on the front legs?
