Buprestid? On Salvia blossoms - Acmaeodera prorsa

Size: about 11 mm
On Salvia clevelandii, a California-native sage. It reminds me of Acmaeodera- but what do I know?

The California Beetle project lists about 80 species of Acmaeodera for the state (if I counted right)

prothorax seems a bit broad,
prothorax seems a bit broad, but otherwise it looks like an Acmaeodera
