Borne of snow - Boreus nivoriundus - male

Borne of snow - Boreus nivoriundus - Male
Amethyst Brook Conservation Area, Hampshire County, Massachusetts, USA
March 24, 2020
This is, I think, the third snow scorpionfly I've found in the woods behind our home. All three have been this species, as far as I could tell. Interesting that Tom Murray, who lives not all that far east of me, found several of the other local species of Boreus (brumalis) before he found one of these, while I still haven't found a brumalis yet.
