This specimen was sent to BOLD. I could not imagine what it was with those bold white lines on the forewing. I was shocked when the identification came back. It can soon be seen in the public database as TXLEP979-20 in bin BOLD:AAG0357. I dissected it and it surely is a female of the species. The description in ZooKeys 30:1-156 (2009) refers to the description of Tricholita ferrisi which says "Description known only from Males" and the description of T. knudsoni is only of the male with the female only described as to the dissection - unless I am reading it wrong.

3/31/2020 -- I found a female among my dissections dated 11/26/2019. It is a NORMAL looking specimen. This poor thing probably had something happen to it before it got to my sheet. It will be interesting to see if I ever see another that seems to have that yellow/orange color to the reniform spots and a little other places on its wings.

Lines…
I've gotten similar a few times from wings sliding under the slips of paper I use to hold them down and the scales getting scraped off.

Hi Aaron,

Thanks for the tip, but that was not the case here. I did not use slips and the lines are evident on the reverse side of the wings as well as where they are on the dorsal side. The hind wing without a line does not have it on the ventral either.

I immediately knew it was different when it was on the sheet, so I quickly scooped it up for better photographing later.
