Moth - Epinotia

Moth - Epinotia
Woodside Township, Otter Tail County, Minnesota, USA
March 30, 2020
Size: Small - less than 1/2 inc
Winter is just leaving us here. Most of the snow is gone, except for the deeper piles. While walking the trails in my woods today, I approached a fallen spruce tree. As I approached, I saw the last second of the flight of this small moth. If I hadn't seen the flash of its wings, I never would have seen it. Even after seeing it land, I had trouble spotting it. Photo taken 13:54, temp. upper 50's and sunny.
