Genus Nudorthodes - Nudorthodes texana - male

Genus Nudorthodes - Nudorthodes texana - Male
1.3 miles NW of Camp Wood, Edwards County, Texas, USA
November 29, 2019
I had 2 mystery Noctuids that I found when I was dissecting and did not recognize the dissection. I have now gotten the DNA report and both ended up in a Bin that is "nr. Nudothordes texana". Their DNA does not match either N. texana or N. molino and their dissections don't match. My guess is that this is an undescribed species. CHANGED 5/28/2020 - but I cannot tell what Genus the new species might be, so I have moved this back to the Tribe which BG shows to contain both possible species.

Since Protothordes texicana was described from Uvalde County and we are only about 5 miles from the border of Uvalde County, I would think I SHOULD have THAT species.

Both can be seen along with 3 others I had sent to BOLD very early on in bin BOLD:ACZ3983. The Bin Tree says the outgroup is Nudorthodes texana
