Xylocopa tabaniformis ? - Xylocopa tabaniformis - female

Xylocopa tabaniformis ? - Xylocopa tabaniformis - Female
Roseburg, Oregon, Douglas County, Oregon, USA
April 2, 2020
Size: approx 12 mm
We leave an oversized chuck of firewood undisturbed year after year because we enjoy having carpenter bees in it. This year we photographed both males and females going in the same hole. They have at least three entrances, but both sexes went in this hole. In a moment I'll post the male.
