July 5, 2017: collected 2 galls on Woodland sunflowers, Helianthus maybe strumosus, one on a leaf the other on the stem at the leaf node

They don't look rounded enough to be Pilodiplosis helianthibulla, or at least the leaf gall doesn't, but they also have the opening on the top whereas Pilodiplosis helianthibulla is underneath
