Paracantha with larva - Paracantha cultaris

Paracantha with larva - Paracantha cultaris
San Diego, San Diego County, California, USA
March 29, 2020
Size: 7-10mm
Is the larva associated with this species of Fruit Fly (Genus Paracantha)? The interaction was non-hostile, and very brief. There were many Lady Beetle larvae about at the at time, but none of this appearance. Thanks!!

Observed on a Sunflower (Helianthus)
"whereas P. cultaris (Coquillett), the third species in California, attacks only Helianthus spp. (Cavender & Goeden 1984)."

lacewing larva
the larvae are predators of aphids but I don't know if they ever take on something as large as that fly

Sunflower (Helianthus)
I neglected to mention that this was observed on a Sunflower (Helianthus) which likely makes this a Paracantha cultaris for both the adult and the larva perhaps?
