Geometrid from willow - Euchlaena

Geometrid from willow - Euchlaena
Princeton, Sherburne County, Minnesota, USA
May 15, 2013
Size: ~ 32 mm
I thought the distinctive dorsal markings might make identification easy but I've not made a match. On May 21 many wasp larvae emerged but apparently none successfully pupated. Thanks in advance for any advice.

My Guess
Penultimate instar Euchlaena. I find similarly confusing individuals all the time, then they molt and the ridges and protuberances become more pronounced.

I like your 'guess'
It fits in terms of life cycle and size. Somehow I haven't found the file in my files, so I don't know if I even thought of Euchlaena. Much appreciate your input.

OK, I found the image
And it actually has a preserved file name 'presumed Euchlaena'! I also found another, tentatively called Euchlaena effecta (ex ova), which looks quite similar. So, I very much like your ID and thanks again for your assistance in cutting through the fog!
