fly in muddy habitat - Lispe
Waukon City Park, Allamakee County, Iowa, USA

Size: ~5 mm
My thoughts are that this is a shore fly or marsh fly, but I couldn't find anything that looked close in those families, so I'm not sure at all about its identity. It was found in a muddy pond shoreline habitat in company with the shore fly Parydra aquila.
