Desert Hairy Scorpion - female

Desert Hairy Scorpion - Female
Peoria, Maricopa County, Arizona, USA
April 14, 2020
Size: About 8 inches
This is a female Giant Hairy Scorpion. I just want to know, is she just very plump or is she gravid? If she's gravid, how long do you think it will be until she gives birth? Thanks for any feedback!

Probably gravid
Could be several months before she gives birth. If you're going to keep her, give her a heat lamp or heating pad on one side of the enclosure she can bask against and make sure she has a water dish to drink from. If she's gravid she'll likely spend most of her time with her belly up against where the heat is and will drink frequently.

Reply to Probably gravid
She's been plump for a few months already and I've just been feeding her once a week. Should I give her more food? Also, I don't have a heating pad so is it optional or do I need to have it? I have water for her as well.

Food and heat
Once a week is probably fine. A warmer spot will help speed up gestation and may be necessary for healthy development of the embryos, but she still may be able to give birth.

Might be worth going to Arachnoboards and asking, there are several very knowledgeable scorpion husbandry people there that will have experience with this species.
