I had found this pot about two feet from the pot that a Eumenes smithii had built, it was attached to grass growing against the rocks, I collected it, and this is who emerged. ID'd with images and info in guide.

I agree!
That might be a new host record. It would pay to investigate that possibility, anyway. I always thought that ripiphorids were parasites of ground-nesting bees.....
