Conifer Sawflies (Diprionidae)?

Conifer Sawflies (Diprionidae)?
Sandy Hollow, Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, USA
April 14, 2020
The predator is Laphria saffrana but it's the prey I'm asking about. I think it's in the family of Conifer Sawflies (Diprionidae).

Any help with a more specific ID of the Conifer Sawfly would be much appreciated.

Conifer Sawflies (Diprionidae)? Conifer Sawflies (Diprionidae)?

Moved from ID Request.

I agree

Thanks, Ken. I assume these are not taken to species or even genus.

Well, not by me. :)
But if you want to crop it down to the sawfly and move it to the family page, there's always the chance an expert will come along and take the ID further.
