A female captured at light July 16, 2005 laid eggs on aspen petioles in captivity. The eggs were small, white, and placed close together. Some were hatching on July 24. I offered a variety of broadleaved plants most of which were eaten. By July 28 they seemed to be favoring Viburnum species, especially the more wilted leaves.
I believe the first two photos show a presumed penultimate instar near molt. I'm sorry the photos aren't better (they are scans of somewhat poorly exposed slides).
The third photo shows a presumed final instar on September 9 at about 30 mm. One pupa (only one) was found on September 22. It was found eclosed but dead and desiccated on April 15, 2006.
