Moved
Moved from Banksiola. I'm looking at Wiggins right now, and the markings and case clearly do not match Banksiola. Lloyd, are you certain it's a limnephilid? Seems likely, but please let us know how you know, since there's been a conflicting opinion. I agree that the case seems most like a limnephilid's, having just perused illustrations of the cases of every genus in North America, but I'm completely ignorant about the larvae themselves.

The limnephilid ID...
is mostly a process of elimination. Both the pronotum and mesonotum are sclerotized, which would rule out phryganeids like Banksiola. (Also, phryganeids build spiral or stacked cases of plant material.) Aside from Limnephilidae, the other possibilities would seem to be Brachycentridae or Uenoidae. Although not entirely clear from the photo, this larva appears to have a dorsal hump on the 1st abdominal segment. Brachycentrids are humpless, and the gills, claws, and cases do not look like this. The mesonotum detail is not clear enough to detect the notches that would indicate Uenoidae, but the gills, legs, and head do not look like a uenoid larva to me.

That sounds reasonable.
The case certainly doesn't seem to match any other family, and since the larval characteristics agree, I'll go ahead and move it to Limnephilidae.

Yes
A limnephilid, but I have no guess as to genus/species.
