these ants were getting in my house somehow, and then they found their way into my lizard cage on the counter. they moved in right under the rock that i have set on the bottam of the cage for the lizards to bask on. anybody know what kind?

Tapinoma sessile
An ant that is distasteful to most predators, known as the odorous house ant. Way too pubescent for any Paratrechina found in PA, and flattened on gastral dorsum.

I want to say a Paratrechina
I want to say a Paratrechina species. They're opportunistic nesting ants.

sure?
does not look very similar to other photos in the guide but if nobody has anything else to say then i will move to that page.

today was clean the lizard cage day. unfortunatly for the ants, they had to go. i dumped the old liter(with the ants) outside. hopefully they will regroup and be fine. i got some better pics which i will post.

Yea but
won't the lizards just have them for dinner ?

nah
the lizards are used to eating crickets... they dont even seem to care about these tiny little things.

....
Well I thought maybe you could cut down on their food bill (if you're buying the crickets).
